arcs i absolutely hate : second chances & forgiving abuse because "everyone deserves a second chance" — especially when the mc with supportive parents gaslights other mc into forgiving parents after years of trauma & abuse, when the female mc suddenly 'changes' her mind about having kids or just can't go through an abortion despite being the character consistently portrayed as the one who doesn't want kids or is against marriage etc. — when a guy comes along and the fmc loses her entire sense of identity & opinions on politics, religion, marriage, kids etc eg temperance brennan in bones, hallmark esque small hometown boy x big city independent successful girl — they really just end up being misogynistic she's-not-complete-without-a-man propaganda films
